Screenshots og downloads bliver også opdateret hele tiden, ofte helt uafhængigt af nyhederne... Check ofte for nyt!

E3 er færdigt

Det er som om at alle spiludviklerne brugte showets første dage (onsdag og torsdag) til at sige alt hvad de ville, så der er ikke mange flere nyheder at poste fra E3 i år, som man måske også kan se på gårsdagens (manglende) nyhedsflow.
Vi har dog lagt et par download-links mere op, samt nogle nye screenshots. Generelt kan man sige, at årets show bød på bunkevis af efterfølgere, samt offentliggørelser af endnu flere MMORPG'er, så der er nok til at oversvømme markedet totalt i løbet af de næste år. RSC og SC siger tak for opmærksomheden, og vi håber at vi har leveret det man gerne ville læse om, se på osv.

Der vil i de kommende uger nok komme masser af artikler fra rundt omkring på nettet, så hold øje med RSCs og SCs respektive hovedsider for de nyeste scoops.

Spellforce offentliggjort

Gamespot har scoopet fra Jowoods helt nye spil der er offentliggjort ved E3. Titlen er "Spellforce", og det er måske det mest ægter RPS (Role-Playing Strategy) spil på vej til PC. Her er et uddrag af Gamespots første kig på spillet:

    The game begins in a fairly traditional real-time strategy style. Players must build a town to use as a base, but to do that they must first summon workers from a magical monument and set them to work gathering resources and building structures. In addition to the main character and the worker units, the game includes hero units, which can be summoned from a different magical monument, and military units. These units can be given various orders, including following the main character and attacking enemies. The hero units' artificial intelligence lets them work fairly autonomously, although their spells must be directed by the player. Some basic units will have the ability to cast a single spell, such as heal, and will cast those spells on their own whenever necessary.

    After killing some aggressive wolves with the help of a few hero units, Wertich took us to battle a small group of dark elves and show off the game's spell system. Rather than selecting the casting unit, then selecting the spell, then selecting the target, Spellforce will let you select the desired target first and will then highlight all the possible spells to be cast from all the friendly units in the area. This system lets the player quickly use multiple magic users in the heat of battle. After a couple nice-looking fireballs, a hypnotism spell, and an electrical shock attack, the dark elves were defeated, the last one collapsing to the ground while still on fire.

The Matrix Online offentliggjort!

Ikke nok med at Shiny Entertainment har et "The Matrix" actionspil på vej, så er der sandelig også et MMORPG på vej fra ingen ringere end Warner Brothers selv, i samarbejde med Monolith! Hvordan man har tænkt sig at gribe dette tilsyneladende umulige projekt fornuftigt an vil tiden vise, men ud fra pressemeddelelsen ser det jo fornuftigt ud:

    Warner Bros, Monolith Productions, and EON Entertainment have announced that they are producing a massively multiplayer online game based on the blockbuster sci-fi film The Matrix and the film's upcoming sequels. The game will be a re-creation of the virtual world featured in the movie, and it will support tens of thousands of players in the same environment. It will combine elements of action adventure and character building in a persistent online world.

    The game is being designed by Monolith, the studio that created No One Lives Forever and the Aliens Versus Predator action games, and EON Entertainment--a collaboration between Joel Silver, the films' producer, and Larry and Andy Wachowski, the films' creators. The game will be built on LithTech's Discovery system, an all-new game engine and set of tools specifically designed for massively multiplayer games.

    "We know fans of the franchise are extremely dedicated and loyal and we intend to do everything we can to remain true to The Matrix, while providing them with the ultimate online gaming experience," said Jason Hall, CEO of Monolith.

At genskabe verdenen i The Matrix i et computerspil er én ting, men at forsøge at få tusindvis af folk ind i denne mystiske og meget personlige verden ligner en umulig opgave, og er indtil videre et mysterie for RSC. Tiden vil vise hvad Warner Brothers har i sinde.


Freedom Force 2 på vej!

IGN PC rapporterer at Freedom Force 2 stensikkert er på vej! Her er hele artiklen, så I slipper for at skulle igennem deres banner-helvede for at læse historien:

    It's been public knowledge that after the assured success of the amazing Freedom Force Irrational would set out to develop a sequel, one that would take place in the next age of comics, with each subsequent sequel after that following in the next decade. Thus, Freedom Force was the 60s, FF2 will be the 70s, FF3 the 80s, and so on and so forth. Now, thanks to the joys of random meetings at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, we know a bit more.

    A sequel is indeed being developed (currently only very preliminary work is being done), but the intrepid developers at Irrational are a bit torn. The stellar development house isn't big on rehashing the same product and slapping a number two on it; in fact, all of its games are radically different. And herein lies the problem...

    Freedom Force is awesome. We know it, you know it, and they know it. Freedom Force 2 could and perhaps should then logically be an extension of the first game with technical improvements and fixes where necessary. But like I said, Irrational likes to do things different.

    That's when I learned that development on Freedom Force 2 could go another way, one far more akin to X-Com. Imagine an entire city waiting to be discovered. Imagine, if you will, an incredibly in-depth game with heavier RPG elements. Oh my.

    Regardless of the outcome, the general consensus here at IGN is that whatever path Irrational ultimately goes down, it'll be we who benefit.

Booth Babes til E3

Traditionen tro har de mange spiludviklere masser af Booth Babes til at lokke folk til. Standarden er dog ikke helt så god som de sidste par år i denne skribents mening (Søren), hvor bl.a. Duke Nukem babes henrykkede publikum.

HomeLAN har snuppet en masse billeder af b-babes'ne (skønt der er nogle der kunne komme på A-listen), og dem kan du se her.


Nye datoer for Icewind Dale 2 og Neverwinter Nights

Icewind Dale 2 kommer ikke d. 31 maj som lovet. Spillet bliver nu først udgivet d. 21 juni. Hvorfor er der ingen der ved, men de fleste nyhedskilder holder nu til denne dato der skulle være "lækket" fra Black Isle eller Interplay.

På den lyse side kommer Neverwinter Nights muligvis til butikkerne allerede d. 18 juni, men idet betaen først lige er startet, er dette nok ikke helt sandsynligt. Man kan dog altid håbe, og Bioware selv siger altså 18/6 nu så man ved aldrig.


Gamespot og Gamespy går AMOK!

Både Gamespy og Gamespot ligner de ultimative vindere i dysten om den bedste E3-dækning, og vi har samlet links til ALLE de relevante artikler der omhandler "first looks", "impressions" eller andet hvor man ved at de rent faktisk har spillet spillene. Så skulle der være nok læsning til de næste par timer :-) Husk at det kun er de artikler hvos skribenterne har spillet produktet der er links til. Begge sider har også masser af screenshots, filmklip m.m. at byde på ud over dette, der endda kun omhandler strategi- og rollespil.

Det er lidt sørgeligt at se Boomtowns udbud ved siden af dette, når man tænker på at der er hele 7 folk afsted fra redaktionen... Gamereactor er heller ikke for godt med, og generelt er det lidt tyndt af de danske sites.


Arx Fatalis udsat!

Ja, desværre har Jowood måtte meddele at Arx Fatalis ikke kommer ud i dag som planlagt, og releasen er skubbet frem til 21 juni for hele Europa og USA. Lidt sent at melde ud om sådan noget, men med E3, spilbar demo og presse-focusen, har de måske haft svært ved at finpudse spillet nok.


Mere om Lionheart fra Black Isle

Gamespy har gravet lidt i Lionheart, og her er et lille uddrag af deres "first impressions":

    The SPECIAL system serves as the basis for the development of your character, a descendant of Richard the Lionheart. This system has no classes -- instead, statistics, skills, perks and traits define your abilities. The skills have been revised to match the setting and are divided into several groups: fighting, thieving and three type of magic: divine (church), thought (scientific) and tribal (nature). You control only one character that can be of either sex and from one of four races: humans, feralkin, demokin and sylvant. The sylvants are magically adept, good creatures (think elves), while demokin are demonic, magical creatures. Feralkin have the spirits of beasts within them. Many items, like armor and weapons will also be available to further customize your character.

    Lionheart features real-time combat and is "action-oriented." You will need to resort to combat, for which there are three main approaches: swordplay, archery and magic. You can also speak with non-player characters to receive quests and information. By selecting from multiple-choice options, you will work your way through the dialogue trees. Even though the game is based on
    Fallout's RPG system, you won't be able to talk your way through the whole game.

Commandos 3 Trailer!

Commandos 3 er ikke engang offentliggjort, men ikke desto mindre er det blevet det igennem en ny trailer-film for strategispillet! Traileren findes i en stor og lille udgave (opløsnings-mæssigt), og kan findes i boksen lige under vores E3-logo under "Dugfriske Downloads".


Myst Online offentliggjort

Vi beklager den sene start i dag (torsdag), men livet går nok videre, især nu hvor Ubisoft har offentliggjort Myst Online! Der er ikke de vilde features endnu, men det har noget at gøre med at Myst serien har solgt over 11 millioner eksemplarer, og nu vil man gerne malke lidt penge fra de mange fans :-) Her er pressemeddelelsen:

Hvad spillet reelt kommer til at handle om er altså ikke helt klart, men vi følger dets udvikling på både RSC og SC.
